ILNAS x ANEC: relying on cloud computing standardization to drive innovation

On June 14, ILNAS & ANEC GIE presented their latest report “Technical Standardization: addressing Cloud Computing challenges and supporting related ICT development” over breakfast. This paper aims to offer an overview of cloud computing concepts and challenges, as well as related standardization developments.

This new report is published in the frame of the national normative strategy 2020-2030, which encompasses Information & Communication Technologies (ICT), Construction, and Space, as high-growth sectors. Specifically for the ICT sector, the Institut Luxembourgeois de la Normalisation, de l’Accréditation, de la Sécurité et qualité des produits et services (ILNAS), relies on a policy on ICT technical standardization 2022-2025 for its developments.

Among their research activities in the ICT domain, ILNAS & ANEC GIE published a new report on cloud computing. The latter has the objective to promote and reinforce valorization regarding relevant Cloud Computing standardization activities, as well as their potential within Luxembourg’s economy.

Hence, ILNAS & ANEC GIE organized a breakfast in order to provide an official presentation of the report. To initiate the session, ILNAS Deputy Director, Dr. Jean-Philippe Humbert, recalled ILNAS activities in terms of ICT standardization, followed with a presentation – from ILNAS “ICT & standardization” responsible, Mr. Nicolas Domenjoud – on the role and activities of the Organisme Luxembourgeois de Normalisation (OLN). ANEC GIE project officer ICT & Technical Standardization, Ms. Rim Doukha, was in charge of presenting the report details.
