The process of the Circular By Design Challenge is rather simple as it starts with the launch of a call for ideas and concludes with an official Awards Ceremony for the winners’ announcement. The first phase consisted in a webinar presenting the guidelines and expectations of the Challenge – organized last November 9.
This year, there are four categories:
- Multifunctional urban furniture: Circular and sustainable solutions for temporary landscaping, gardens and installations
- Sustainable business events: Innovative solutions for sustainable business events
- LuXembourg Collection: Circular products for the LuXembourg Collection
- Development cooperation and humanitarian aid: Innovative and sustainable solutions responding specific aid issues
After receiving all the applications, the Steering Committee will select a total of 20 projects (so 5 per category) based on the general evaluation criteria and the specific requirements of each category. The deadline for submitting applications is January 20 (at noon).
On February 2, the 20 selected applicants will present their ideas during a pitching session, from which the jury is to select the 12 best projects. The selected participants will then take part in a 12-week-long coaching program – ending on May 5 – so as to elaborate their respective project.
On May 16, after the end of the program, a final conference including an awards ceremony will be held. One winner in each category will be rewarded with a cash prize of €8,000. All participants will also be invited to pitch their sustainable solutions to industry at a dedicated event.
