OpenAI’s ChatGPT truly made a breakthrough when it was first launched in late 2022. The AI-powered chatbot initially lies on the third OpenAI’s language model version, and so far enabled the possibility of answering any questions and providing a wide range of information.
The ChatGPT tool is about to enter its next phase. During the event “AI in Focus – Digital Kickoff”, Microsoft Germany Director of Technology Andreas Braun said that ChatGPT-4 will be presented “next week”, referring to this coming week. As of now, there are now many technical details revealed, except that this new version is the arrival of multimodal models.
“We will present GPT-4 next week. We will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities. For example, videos.” – Andreas Braun
In other words, this means that it will be possible to generate not only text, but also images and videos. In the artificial intelligence sector, this represents another step closer to the capacity of human interpretation.
The multimodal format makes it also possible to manage the input or output of data in different languages. This means that one can make a request in Italian, and the text generated can be in English – for instance.
This is to change working habits; as Microsoft Germany Director Marianne Janik said, “traditional job descriptions are changing. New and exciting professions are emerging as a result of the enrichment of new possibilities”. It is hence important to train employees on the adoption of artificial intelligence in their daily tasks.
Besides, there are high chances that GPT-4 is to be integrated into Microsoft’s products – as it is already the case with GPT-3.5 – so as to bring them to the next level.
GPT-4 is to unveil the rest of its capabilities next March 16!
